([{"type":"0","id":"-RTUJb9_c1I","title":"Mid-April Lawn Update for North Texas - trial","author":"Village Green Lawn & Landscape","author2":"Village Green Lawn & Landscape","duration":"2:22","description":"The recipe for a healthy lawn is pretty basic. The ingredients are sun, water, and food (fertilizer.) Where things get tricky is with our weather in North Texas. Founded in 1980, Village Green has been through many spring seasons in North Texas. And what we`ve learned over the years is that if we have a cool spring, our soil temperatures will be slow to warm up enough for lawns to come out of dormancy, which is what we`re seeing this year. Most lawns, at best, are only half out of dormancy, which means our phones are ringing with worried customers wanting to know why their yard is not greening up yet. Rest assured, our temperatures will get (and stay) warmer, and we should start seeing some significant progress in a few more weeks. So don`t panic. The key to your lawn health plan is patience to stay the course. If you aren`t currently using Village Green for your lawn`s health, we would love to earn you business. Founded in 1980, we are a family-owned and operated lawn and landscape company. So many Ken has recorded a `Best Plants Series.` Today we wanted to show you one of our favorite plants to use, the Japanese Maple. It has to be one of my all-time favorite trees. Japanese Maples are what we call an understory tree. That means they like to be underneath another tree. Ideally, you`d like them to be in the shade so their leaves don`t get crinkly during the heat of summer. They can do ok in the sun, but keep in as much shade as possible if at all possible. They can grow to be quite tall, but they are slow growers. They drop their red leaves in the winter, making this a spectacularly graceful tree. Why does the Forest Pansy (a.k.a. Redbud Tree) make our list? They thrive in North Texas Offer color (famous for their vibrant blooms in late winter or early spring.) Unlike the Japanese Maple, the Redbud can handle a sunny spot in your landscape. ([{"type":"0","id":"rm05ulvegJg","title":"Landscape Spotlight: Michelle & Craig`s Family Friendly North Plano Project - trial","author":"Village Green Lawn & Landscape","author2":"Village Green Lawn & Landscape","duration":"4:21","description":"Michelle and Craig contacted us to help reimagine their large, open North Plano backyard. The couple had a good idea of what they wanted in their project. It was essential to keep as much of their large lawn as possible so their six and nine-year-old children could enjoy the space (or a pool could be installed in the future.) They also wanted to create an area in their landscape for a vegetable garden and space for Craig`s mower and tools. They also wanted to soften their fence line, create some privacy from the neighbors, and upgrade their outdoor patio space. As you can see in the before and after photos, the design will help cover their expansive fence with plants that will mature and screen the neighbor`s homes, creating a sense of privacy in the backyard. To soften the extensive fence, we used a combination of savannah holly, needlepoint hollies, and abelias. Michelle and Craig also wanted more outdoor living space, so we expanded the patio area with a new stamped concrete area that looks beautiful. Surrounding it, we used compact nandinas, lambs` ear, irises, and dwarf Mexican petunias to complement and frame the patio. I want to thank Michelle and Craig for trusting us with their project and for taking the time to send me the following note about our team. `I`m certain you know this already, but I believe you have some great employees in Hannah, Juan, and Manny. They`re very friendly, welcoming of any questions or concerns, and were very professional throughout the entire 3-week job. I`m not sure one could ask for better ambassadors or representatives of your business.” Michelle and Craig If you have a landscape project in mind for 2022, we would love the opportunity to discuss your project. Our landscapes start at $2,500 and go up to $100,000 + on large scale projects. Call 972-495-6990 or email Info@VillageGreen-Inc.com for more information.","sdescription":" 0 sddefault 480 maxresdefault","date":"2022-04-04","thumbnail":"","hd":"yes","hits":"","likes":"","start":"0","stop":"","status":"1","views":"120"}]
